Join Brian Carter, Oden Brewing Co.’s head brewmaster, on the 3rd annual Pedaling for Pencils Bike Ride on Saturday, October 22nd starting at 8:30am! Proceeds will go to the Teacher Supply Warehouse, a Guilford Education Alliance program that offers new and gently-used classroom supplies at no cost to Guilford County Schools educators. Every registration and donation made to support the Warehouse will be matched by Oden Brewing Company up to $2500!

Start Time: Cyclists will gather at Oden to kick-off the ride at 8:30am

About GEA and the Teacher Supply Warehouse: Great communities have great schools. GEA is an ever-growing alliance of people, organizations and businesses coming together to support Guilford County Schools students and teachers. One of GEA's cornerstone programs is the Teacher Supply Warehouse, a resource designed to help offset GCS teachers’ out of pocket costs by offering them new and gently-used classroom supplies at no cost. Research shows that teachers spend an average of $650-$1000 each year on materials for their classroom and students. On average, GEA provides more than $450K of supplies directly to GCS educators for their classrooms each year.

Waiver for Riders:
With respect to the Oden Pedaling for Pencils Ride on October 22nd, 2022 for the consideration of participation, I freely and voluntarily assume the risk of personal injury or property damage that may result from this activity.
I further agree to waive and release from all claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation and agree to hold harmless Oden Brewing, Sponsors, Cooperating Organizations, Club Members, Volunteers and all parties connected with this event from any liability as a result of my participation.
I will permit emergency treatment in the event of injury or illness while participating and give permission to use my image and photo from this event in any promotional material, publication or on websites/social media.
I do agree to accept full responsibility to obey the traffic and rules of safety for the event and understand the organizers withhold the right to dismiss anyone that may cause disturbance during this event or disregard the rules with respect to safety.
I certify that I have read and understand the intent of this waiver and release.
Eligibility:
- Road bikes w/ drop bars and multiple gears
- Helmets required
- "Rules of the Road" ride ie: obey all trafic laws/stop signs/traffic lights, etc.
- Blinky lights recommended.
